Doodle a day

...keeps me occupied at work. Work went by exceptionally fast...even if I only got three to four hours of sleep the night before. I like drawing in ball point pen, it's something I've done since I was in high school. I like seeing construction lines in art especially in art books. I prefer just coloring over the pencils in photoshop as opposed to inking the piece before hand but I've been making a real push to ink things more, thats the only way I'll develop a style I like and get better at it.

Yesterday, Nicole came by and we finally got caught up with How I Met Your Mother. We started from season one all throughout February and March. That show is awesome.

Today I picked up the Astounding Wolfman Vol.1 and Ultimate Hulk Vs. Wolverine number five for Eric. I have one more trade to buy before I get my free trade from 10th Planet!

Alright enough rambles for the day. Going to wrap up LOST and push pencil to paper.

What have you been up too?

Well, I've been up to a lot. I've been away spending whatever time I can with baby Juliet and my awesomely wonderful girlfriend. Any other time, I've been using to finish some projects, books, comics, podcasts, but mostly I've been concentrating on a new portfolio geared towards character design. So if I haven't posted anything in awhile it's because I'm hard at work finishing that up.

I have some random doodles to share, the bottom two are Brock and The Monarch from The Venture Bros. I bought the third season about three weeks ago. That is one of the funniest animated shows ever produced.

I recently went to the Bulls game that happened over the weekend. Talk about impressive...two overtimes and (I think) we're tied up in the series. I honestly didn't know they were in the playoffs and my big bro had an open ticket and asked if I'd like to go. So I had a hell of a time.

I ended up being the date for my bff's college friend's wedding and we had a good time. Hardly anyone danced and more people just open barred until 11:30...quite the alcohol consumption for sure!

Well, not much else is really been happening other then trying to finish this portfolio which is shaping up to be my favorite pieces of collected artwork ever. I also have an idea for an "Art Of" book. I'll attach a sample of one of the characters I finished working on.

OH! I started a facebook group for "When You Were Little..." which is the third book in my "WIWL Series" so if you're on facebook, hit me up and I'll send you an invite. Which reminds me, I have to update the book blog as well. (AHHhhhhhh so much to do and I still feel like it's never enough)

Well, talk to you all soon! Enjoy the sketches. OH and I want to give a shout out to Skottie Young and Casey McCauley as they are expecting their first(of many?) baby. Not that they read my site or anything but I'm a huge Skottie fan and well, how could you not love Casey McCauley.

Fun with Sharpies!

Heeellllo!

I took a break from working on some new art to post on a few things.

I got my Slumdog replacement dvd in the mail yesterday. I checked it out and all the Special Features worked. Whoo hoo!

And today, I got my copy of the Creaturebox Sketchbook. Copies are limited so get them while you can!

Also, I created a Facebook group for the new book, "When You Were Little" so if you're on Facebook, hit up my profile and join. I even debuted the cover and posted links to my various project and portfolio sites.

Hmmm what else OH! I got a new phone and its total boss.

The weekend's going pretty good so far...scratch that AWESOME, haha. I got to meet Nicole's bffs and then tomorrow (Sunday) she's going with me to meet the Squad and Wrestlemania....it should be a blast!

And Juliet came to visit today and she's even more adorable the more I see her. She's smiling more and she lights up a room.

So, the subject to this post is exactly that. It was a slow work day(Friday) for me and I started messing around with some sharpies, blue, red, and black, to be exact. So tell me which ones are your faves? I like how Catwoman, Harley, and Bats turned out. I seem "convention" ready. hehehe.

Later guys!
